Default Resurfacing Stock Flywheel

Is it OK? It appears as if some have done it without issue but the Helms says it needs to be replaced?

I've done NEITHER! It had 11,000 miles on it, and I told my mech friend to resurface it. When I picked it up, I asked him if he resurfaced it, he said "no."

So far so good however. I haven't gone WOT yet so we shall see later....

If you have it resurfaced make sure they rebalance it.Sucks to spend all the time and $$ to do a clutch and find out it vibrates at high rpm. I personally use a new flywheel with every clutch replacement no matter how many miles are on it.

I've read some stuff that says it has "Do not turn" stamped on it. Then I've also read that they can be turned up to .020". I'll put a dial indicator on mine and hopefully it's not warped much if at all.

OH, BTW, I am having a very hard time finding someone to balance it, especially on Saturday which is when I will have it torn out, so I may have to take my chances...

Get the whizz wheel out and go to town on it, then break clean and your done.Thats as long as it's not in bad shape. Some people get lucky, some don't.If you get it cut it HAS TOO be rebalanced.

By wizz wheel you mean a wire wheel? That will get rid of hot spots?

Every place in town I have found that will cut it has never even heard of balancing it. WTF?
