Default Shifting problems

I went and to my local drag strip last night for there street fights and when I made my first few passes I could not get the car to go in to 3rd gear. Driving normal I had no issues getting it in to 3rd. I let the car sit for about 30-45 min and tried it again and was able to get the car to shift in to 3rd while racing. After another break I had issues getting the car to go in to reverse, I have to push it hard to get it to go over and up in to reverse. I have a monster stage 2 clutch with less than 5000 miles. Could it be that i need a Tick master cylinder? Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

Yep, this sounds like a typical master cylinder issue to me. The part about it not going into reverse is strange but it can also be master related.

Could my reverse issue be a problem with my shifter? I have a factory hurst shifter with a WS6 short stick. Just sitting in the car without the car running or with the car running it is the same to get it in reverse. It feels like you are pushing against a heavy spring to get it to go over and up in to reverse. It stays in reverse fine doesn't grind or anything. It's just ha red to push over....

It sounds like your reverse lockout solenoid may be messed up.
