T56 Help!! I have a 2000 Camaro SS 83k Miles, monster clutch, fairly new. As well as slave cyl, the tilton adjustable master and speed bleeder.
My issue is when I bought the car, it had a problem with 5th and 6th. If I double clutch I can get it to go into either while driving. If not , they act like something is blocking them from going in. (I'm not a transmission guy really).
It's only 5th and 6th. I was thinking maybe synchros, but I'm not educated on them enough to know better. and if I just throw it in reverse, and don't keep an eye on it, it will pop out of reverse. Doesn't do it every time, but will so I keep my hand holding it in gear while i'm reversing.
What i'm hoping to do, is have a buddy drop the back of the trans down and break open the tail housing and replace the 5/6 cluster and that fix my issue. Am I on the right track? or can someone offer some insight on this for me. Would be much appreciated.
