LT1-S vs RXT
#21
Put in a RXT in my boosted TA and couldn't be happier. This is after my Monster fused itself to the pressure plate and wouldn't disengage. Think i threw some pics in my turbo build of it when I pulled it apart. Taking it apart found a broken spring on the clutch that was causing a rattling sound that started after about 3k miles with the clutch that when I asked about it was told it was a normal sound.
Price I paid for my RXT I would have had to spend $500 or so last I looked to get an equiv Monster. This was prior to the LT1 setups they offer now and I was already hesitant about with my prior failure. Lot of coin to drop to have something possibly fail.
I have approx 15k miles on my RXT on stock master and have no issues at all when turning up the boost to the 750whp range. Went with it because friends did in the past on their cars and never had complaints up to the 900whp range. Pedal feels just like stock. Wife doesn't complain like she did when driving the Monster with Tick master.

Looking at the Level 2 single disc that you posted pictures of, it looks like the disc and pressure plate were not wearing evenly. Usually that's from a bent disc.
Also the level 2 single disc is rated for 550WHP, so with your 600WHP to 900WHP range turbo Fbody, it would not have lasted long in the end.
Also the Tick master will always make a clutch pedal stiff.
The LT1-XX series clutches have been out since late 2013, so as far as apples to apples comparisons go.
The RXT is a little over 1500.00$ with a steal flywheel. Our LT1-SC is around 1300.00$ with a steal flywheel. The SC is also rated at 1000HP/TQ to the wheel, and not rated at "Theoretical TQ" at the flywheel like the McLeod.
Also our LT1-R is rated for more power then that, and its still cheaper.
Having said that, I hope the RXT will continue to work well for you in the future.

I like my Lt1-S on my turbo fbody and with ovr 600whp/650tq it has been flawless.I also have a tick master so the pedal itself if stiffer than stock but still easy to daily driver..for me. I havent experienced any noise..chatter or slippage yet and Im rather hard on the driveline!

4,000 lb land yacht trapping 155+ mph so far on mid-low 1.4 60's on slicks. No dyno #s but you can imagine it's making some steam. Been trapping over 140 for well over a year and 100+ passes in the 1.5x 60' range on top of that and plenty of street abuse.
RXT, and not a single hiccup yet.

Nice runs! I see an investment in an SFI fire suit in your future... One incident in a Tshirt and you will wish you had the proper gear.
Is this a billet wheel S400? What are the specs on it?
T56 Magnum?

You are correct. It's a billet S484, .96, 1.10a/r
Trans is a Rockland Standard Gear "Tranzilla" T56. Essentially 6060/Magnum internals, magnum front plate, some other fancy touches they do all fit in to the oddball cts-v T56 case. I love it
