Default Average lifespan of a Spec 3?

I'm looking into buying a clutch pretty soon and I've had my eye on a spec stage 3 or 3i, can't decide on which one just yet. One thing I haven't noticed in any of the threads is how long one of these clutches will last. Anyone that has had one of these clutches have any feedback on this? I won't be doing any 6K rpm dumps, (not until I get a rear anyways ) but I will be doing your ocassional trips to the drag strip and some street racing. So how many miles do you guys get out of these clutches?

Mine lasted for about 14,000 miles. It would of lasted longer in a car that doesn't make 600/ft.lbs. It has seen many 6000 rpm launches. It also was the first specIII that spec made. It had the carbon disk.

Sounds like a promising clutch with the amount of abuse you guys are putting yours through. This is on the stage 3 or 3i clutch? The 3i is supposed to hold about 150 ft/lbs more than the regular one.

I thought the 3i was brand new. Probably won't have much feedback on it if that's the case.

I had the old yellow pressure plate stage 3 for about 3k miles.
This one never really stopped slipping. Then bought a blue
pressure stage 3, this lasted about 5k miles then this started
slipping and pedal would sink.Spec said it was stuck between
engagement points. My newest spec has about 2k miles on
it and it 100 times better then the older models, pedals firmer,
holds like a bear and pedal stays the same no matter what.
Had a cartek before these and the balance was so far off
it vibrated the whole car really bad.Replaced slave and master
every time also.

I have the blue pressure plate SPEC Stage 3 Carbon disc setup. Stock '01 Master and Slave cylinders, no drill mod.

Mine has 30,000 hard street driven miles on it and has survived 50 or so 6600rpm clutch dumps on a 600rwhp nitrous setup.

My Carbon Blue Spec III lasted about 10,000 miles with just a cam, another 500 miles with the ati, then started slipping when I put on the Nittos hehe
Gonna give the twin disk a try

I had the old style Spec II that was aboslute garbage, just went to the Spec III and so far so good, just finished break in and it is already a world better. Onlything else we did was the drill mod, still running stock slave and master.

I put about 15k on my Spec 3, I beat the living hell out of it too. Only reason I took it out was to put a TH400 in it, and trust me, when I say beat the **** out of it, I drove it hard everyday of its life.

make sure you get the I series ,they are just better. Not sure what your driving habbits are. That would deside what stage to get.Check to see what slave and master can be used for the stage 4 and 5.Too strong of a clutch is never a bad thing.I have a spec 3i ,no complaints but think I should have gotten the stage 4 or 5 now that I think about it.Well see how it holds up to NOS this fall

Thanks for the input guys, I'll probably end up going with a stage 3 X-pad and upgraded hydraulics. I don't plan to spray anytime soon, but I might add a set of heads and a larger cam in the future so it should last me a good while.
