Default Gto t56 in a 4th gen fbody ?

Who has installed the gto trans in a 4th gen. Its such a better trans then the fbody unit. I messed up my t56 and I found a good deal on a 06 gto trans.
Only issue I can see is the driveshaft. I'm going to swap the shifter cup and use the fbody shifter. I also have a chassis mount torque arm.
Does anyone make a bolt on driveshaft ?

If the trans has a bolt on flange, and the car has a live axle...you will need a slip joint in the shaft somewhere to allow for fore/aft movement with rear suspension travel.

I'm sure DSS or similar could build you something...perhaps somewhat negating any savings from what you bought.

Or maybe some trans shops can offer a slip yoke option for the box have ?

The stock fbody driveshaft slips into the trans.
But I think the length of the trans is different. I'm going to call the local driveshaft shop tomorrow and see what he will charge to make one.

They are the same length...

I run an '06 GTO T56 in the 72 wagon in my avatar. Slip yoke works fine.

That's good news. I have a 9inch so how would I go about changing the yoke. Do they make one that bolts to a stock driveshaft on one end and the 9inch on the other end.
Sorry I'm a newB when it comes driveshafts. I got the car with a built trans and rearend so I don't know much about it. The trans needs work so I'm trying to make this gto trans work until I get mine fixed. The aftermarket driveshaft I had on the car won't slip on the gto trans so I found a stock one for now.
Thanks for the help guys
