flywheelspacer t56 ?? hi I am building a ls3 with a callies crank and that has the short rear flange and I want to put a t56 behind it do I need the oem spacer behind the flex plate?? my machine shop wants everything to recheck my balance so.... im also looking at McLeod flywheels and see them offering a stock size an .200 and a .400 thicker

The reason they offer different thicknesses is the mating at the crank is off from one engine and crank to another as is the stack up of flywheel, clutch pressure plate. Dial indicate measure the crank flange face to the back of the block. Now dial indicate measure from the throw out bearing to the bell housing face. That make up is the stack thickness you're looking for.... flywheel, pressure plate thickness and clutch. For instance... My Flywheel thickness crank mounting to clutch face measures .800 ...you'll find these all over the range.
