Default Clutch Problems

Hey guys i am looking for a bit of help. I am having clutch problems in my 99 firebird ws6. The clutch pedal became soft and woudnt come up from the floor easily, I have read the clutch pedal stickie on this forum multiple times and im a bit stuck I have replaced my master cylinder already and bled the lines with a mityvac. ( i have had troubles getting to the bleed screw on the trans itself) Im trying to figure out if the slave cylinder is bad or if the lines just havent been bled enough. I have bled them multiple times but havent gotten anywhere. The pedal has a bit more feel now but not enough. The car will move but i normally have to pump the pedal a couple times and then it will go in gear. I did do the drill mod while i had it apart. Id hate to drop the transmission only to find out i didnt bleed the lines enough. Im hoping the get some direction on what it could be before i run out of options and have to drop the transmission or pay a shop to do it. Thanks in advance for any help.

It’s tight to get in there but I’ve never had a problem getting to the bleed screw. I’ve used 1/4 inch drive ratchet with socket before. And a 3/8 breaker bar with socket. I always bleed it with two people. If it’s an old slave cylinder then it may need changing anyways.

A 1/4” drive and a shallow socket work best for the bleed screw. I think you just haven’t gotten it fully bled. If the slave was blown out it shouldn’t build enough pressure to work at all

I know you are past this point, but if you drop the trans again put a remote bleeder on. I had issues getting the system bled on mine, so I just barely cracked the bleeder line and submergered the line in a bottle of brake fluid and pumped the pedal. That is what solved my bleeding issues.

MC is probably bled but the slave still needs to be bled. Crack open bleeder press in clutch and hold. Close clutch bleeder and then let off clutch pedal. Do this 2-3 times and you should have a good clutch pedal.
