Default Is a skip shift eliminator really worth it?

So I bought a skip shift eliminator, just because. I'm not really sure I even need it, so I haven't installed it yet. I can shift through gears at any RPM. However I did notice I can't up shift from say 4th to 6th. Would that eliminate that issue?

Skip shift solenoid has nothing to do with the 4 to 6 shift. It was designed to force a 1 to 4 shift when TPS was less than 25% (maybe 30%...I forget), and nothing else.

Unless you're moving the shifter from 4 to 5 to 6 the synchros won't like the 4 to 6 itself

I've never had a problem going from 4th to 6th directly, but I tend to go slow and easy. YMMV...

I was just trying the 4 to 6 shift at about 50 on the highway. No real load on it. It damn sure didn't want to go in, so I wisely didn't force it.

I have never had a problem with 4 to 6 direct shift.
