Spec clutch chatter

Default Spec clutch chatter

hey all, i just gone done installing a stage 3 spec cluth and flywheel. at idle, my tranny has a chatter and also at low RPMs. it had chatter while it had OEM cluth, pp, and flywheel at low RPM but not this bad. is it normal to have chatter in idle with this setup???

If there is a chatering at idle while in neutral I would guess it would be your throwout bearing, not the clutch itself.

The chatter will get better with break in. Give it a chance. You have to change the way you take off. Come out on the clutch normal, and then soon as it grabs, get off it. You don't really have to take off fast. Give the car some gas also. I went thru this, and I can tell you it's like learning to drive a stick all over. In tight parking lots, and bumper to bumper trafic, you will have to live with some of the chatter, but it's not like that most of the time.
