Default How Much HP will the T-56 Handle?

Hello,
I'm a rookie here but just had a question or two. If I would like to end up with a high 10 second nitrous car would the stock T-56 be able to handle it? I suppose the clutch would have to be replaced wouldn't it? Any advice? Thanks - Tom

Ok...10 second car. The T-56 was proven to handle 500HP (The Vipers have it and the vettes, the maros, the birds, the 03 Cobras) ok you get my point. But at the speeds of a 10 second car, the tranny will not last. Sorry bro. Upgrade your clutch, get full suspension, you're gonna need a 12-bolt rear end, and a race-built transmission. That should get you started. Deciding on how you make your power is up to you.

I dont know...my bone stock T56 has not missed a beat all the way down to 10.0s
Some have had problems but I really think high to mid tens is well within the bounds of a stock T56.

You will definately need a new clutch. I run a McLeod street twin and have run my bone stock trans to 9.94 2 years ago. Since then I have upgraded the internals and output shaft just to be sure.

Good luck,

Roman
