Default T56 to LS3 problem

Im new on here Ive been reading a lot but have not exactly found an answer to my problem. I have a LS3 crate engine, american powertrain bell housing, LS7 clutch and flywheel, gm slave cylinder, and a t56 6 speed tremec transmission. All was bought new recently from summit racing except for the clutch which i bought from tick.

I attempted to put all of this together and could not get the transmission to bolt up to the bell housing. The issue was i had the wrong pilot bearing (the one at the end of the crankshaft) I have since got the smaller one that fits farther in the crank. I then tried to install the transmission to the bell housing and it only went a little farther now and won't go any more. It seems to be that the slave cylinder is completely bottomed out on the clutch fingers and i have about 9/16" of an inch to go yet.

I called summits tech line and they didn't know and referred me to call american powertrain, they did not return my call yet.

Im guessing someone has run into this before and could tell me what I've got messed up. It is going into a street rod

thanks in advance!

Did you get the flywheel from Tick also? I see they list a conversion flywheel as part of the LS7 Clutch Kit?

Take the slave off.
If it doesn't fit, hold the disc to center before tightening the pressure plate.
If it fits, try again with the slave on. This time, open the bleeder so the slave can compress.

American Powertrain doesn't make bellhousings. Neither did Keisler. Can't figure technical problems out with marketing.

Did you use the clutch alignment tool to align the clutch disc? If not, the disc maybe off center, and won't let the trans slide in all the way.

I took off the slave and everything bolts up as it should, the slave bleeder was open when i tried it before as this is all brand new and never had fluid in it. so it seems as i apparently have one part that is not correct either the slave cylinder or the flywheel?

This is a long read, but it may shed some light on measurements:

yep.
A taller C6 slave isn't what your setup needs;you need the 2002 F-body one.

It depends if you have the older clutch fork setup, or the newer style. For my 1998 (newer hydraulic style), I used the OEM slave #24264182 from GM Parts Outlet for about $150. If you don't want OEM, Rockauto also has aftermarket options from $34-$116.
