Default t56 or tr6060

sorry newb question. Ive been seeing a bunch of people posting up tr6060s. Im planning to do an ls1 or ls6 swap into my e36 and Im wondering if this tranny will work properly or could be adapted to?

Either or, it's entirely up to you.

Although I think the OEM TR6060 with the remote shifter..I've heard of guys easily hooking up a BMW linkage to these and in general the 6060 is the better gearbox. So would make more sense to go for that.

The tr-6060 also has that fluid pump for a cooler. Better for those autobahn stints lol...

I don't think most magnums have the oil pump...so are you sure the cheaper 6060's do ?

The castings in the body are there on a Magnum to allow fitment ( probably needs machining ? ), does that mean all such boxes do actually have the pump ?
I see some sellers touting it as a cost extra, so presume it's not standard ?

Wish I'd taken the front cover off mine to check

I don't know about the other manufacturers, but the gm 6060s have an oil pump.my 2012 had one.

You had it apart and confirmed this 100% ?

They're all manufactured by Tremec, although there are many variants of the box.

i did not personally have it apart, but Texas druvetrain did when he did the magnum conversion. He said that pump is a failure point on those transmissions. Mine was deleted with the conversion because of the new front plate
