Default T56 lt1 to ls1..

I got a t56 from a 97 Camaro complete with pedals clutch master and slave.. There's gotta be a way to use this on a ls1 by either shaving the bell or different flywheel or something...

Lots of info on how to do this, a basic search will find it. Requires changing the input shaft.

I know the common way is change the clutch, bell housing input shaft slave and master cylinder.. Which adds up to roughly 1300. I don't see why you couldn't shorten then bell housing and still use the fork style clutch.

Go for it and let us know how it goes. Or do a basic search and find your answers. Your choice.

I've done a million searches.. Only thing I've found other than changing everything is an adapter flywheel. And that the difference in distance is .040 or something like that..

I went with kit from rockland standard gear. I don't have the trans and engine mounted up at this point yet.

My t-56 I’m running was a 96’ LT version built with a stage 2 kit when I bought it. I changed the front cover, bellhousing, and input shaft. I bought the pieces for $600ish. The only thing tough about the change over is setting the preload on the input shaft, which has to be correct, or you’ll hurt the tranny eventually. Overall it’s a really simple process.
