Default T56 rebuild help

I’m currently rebuilding my fbody t56 due to a couple broken shift keys. Went ahead and put new synchros, bronze shift pads, and billet keys while I had it apart. This is the first trans I’ve rebuilt. I’m having trouble getting my shift forks to align right. I think I have the 3-4 and 1-2 right but the shift forks beside it I can’t get to align. I believe the pin has to be able to slide through to the 5-6 forks also? I’ve attached some pictures. Any help is appreciated

Just pull up on the 5/6/R shift rail to line them up to the interlock plate....the 5/6/R rail does not bottom out in the front plate bushing when everything is lined up in neutral.

thanks a lot, I was thinking it might be that but just wanted to verify before I tried to button the case up. I really appreciate it, I looked online but couldn’t find anything

It's also more awkward because of gravity wanting to move everything ! But also not possible to mount the trans in a different position in that state.

upgrading to the steel 3-4 shift fork helps alot

yep waiting on my 5th gear slider to come in to finish it up. But the case bolted in good and the pins aligned. Everything looks good so far

From a few years ago 1st time I went through one. I messed around for a while getting the rail all lined up. My 5-6 & R forks arent on the interlock plate but everything else is lined up. It got a gearbox level2 kit, new bearings, mainshaft & 5-6 cluster gear

Getting the locator pins in is always a challenge even after doing a few

I went through 2 tubes of rtv from having to take my case on and off because I kept knocking it in fourth gear lol. Finally got them lined up

This was the trickiest part of the whole rebuild for me, I know what you mean about the RTV because youll be scraping and cleaning it off each time you dont get it right lol

I had to redo it 5 times lol. Actually just finished the trans last night and everything feels good so far
