Shimming the throwout bearing closer or changing the push rod length will not work. This will only preload the bearing more. So you gain the early disengagement but preload the throwout bearing, no good.
These are all linear adjustments.
You need a ratio change. Bigger master cylinder to make the same pedal action push the throwout bearing further.
