Default re-using OEM flywheel

I'm getting a new PP + disc, and re-using the flywheel, which is low mileage and excellent condition. I've checked it with a straightedge, it's perfectly flat and it has no ridges or scratches or blue heat marks, very smooth, maybe too smooth? I'm thinking maybe it needs to have the surface roughened up, is that necessary?

Always have the flywheel resurfaced even if there is no hot spots or cracks. Otherwise the new clutch will burn up

The pilot bearing is in the crankshaft, not the flywheel.

Yes, lots of reasons to take a cut off the flywheel including the surface texture. Also, flywheel will take a bit of a curve over time, that needs to be restored to flat. These days its almost cost effective to replace it.
