I知 collecting all the parts needed to swap auto to manual transmission in my 2000 trans am. Looking for some one to do the work in nyc or New Jersey area. I知 in Staten Island.

Have you seen what nightmare it is to do that conversion? You're better off leaving it as an automatic or selling it and finding a stick. This is coming from a guy who is a manual transmission snob.

I didnt know it was a nightmare to swap. I thought the hard part was finding all the parts. Why is it a nightmare?

I don't think its as hard as he's making it out to be, a lot of people have done it and I'm sure that there are plenty of write ups on how to swap it.

your car came as a auto or manual so swapping it over to manual, assuming you get all the parts, is straight forward. Given you are looking to pay someone...that will cost some $

I have done auto to manual swaps in cars that never came with sticks with factory looking results

Most shops just want normal "repair" work vs custom conversion jobs. Those kind of jobs usually lead to "custom shops" that can do it but it will cost you big in labor $

You will need the PCM flashed for a "M" file (manual) car.
