Default Uneven release fingers! Frustrating

I just installed a new flywheel and then I tried to install the new pressure plate and clutch. I used a criss cross pattern and torqued down the bolts in 4 stages: 10 ft lbs., 24, 38, and finally 52. However, 2 of the bolts just were much tougher to go from the start than the other 6 were. I believe this completely throws off the torque value. I don't know why 2 are so much tougher to thread in from the start other than the threads being too tight. I made sure they weren't corss threaded and it wasn't an issue with the bolts as all the other bolts were similar in resistance in those threads. This is what I believe is causing the uneven fingers. I'm not sure what to do. Should I just tighten the bolts until the fingers are even?

Please post pictures. What parts are you using? Did you take it all apart? Are any of the bolts stripped?

Sometimes the bolts will go through the wrong set of holes and the pressure plate needs to be aligned to the flywheel in a particular way.

Finger start all of the bolts before attempting to torque.

Some flywheels also have a pin in them to line up with the hole for orientation on the pressure plate.

My hunch is that you didnt align the pressure plate hole with the pin on the flywheel

I brought the flywheel to a machine shop. 2 of the threads were just too tight. I probably could've just counted the turns of the wrench and then eyeballed things instead of going by torque wrench, but I'm glad things are solved. I wasn't expecting that issue but now it went in like a piece of cake.
