NV3500 direct replacement?
I have a 2003 S10 xtreme that I LS swapped and I want to switch from a manual to an automatic. I just had the driveshaft rebuilt and don't want to change it, also don't want a computer controled trans.
I believe a TH350 has the same yoke but the TH350 comes with a 6 , 9, or 12 inch tail shaft.
What length tail shaft TH350 do I need to replace the NV3500 5 speed that is coming out of the S10?
What TH350 is the same length as an NV3500 5 speed?
Is it safe to assume that the NV3500 is the same length as the 4L60E??
Also anyone running a NV3500 have the same issue where it won't go into the next gear if spinning the engine to 6K?
I've had a couple NV3500 and they simply don't like to shift if they are revved higher then 4,800 RPM. I assume its just the design, that they are not designed to shift at high RPM. Or did I just happen to have a couple really worn out examples?
He told me his original th350 tail shaft is 9"
He said you would have to move your crossmember forward a few inches and drill new holes.
He did his on a C10
Hope this helps
I did try to research and that's pretty much what I thought but I could not get confirmation anywhere....I got pretty close, one post mentioned something similar - the "long tail" TH350 but they also made a 12 or 13 inch tail shaft so even though I knew the "long tail" was what people commonly referred to the 9" tail I didn't want to drop the $$ and find out actually....they were talking about the rare 12 or 13" er
Thanks again
