hey guys i need a little help here. so i was driving and was coming to a stop and the car would not come out of 4th gear so i pulled off the road and let it sit for a few minutes then was able to get it into 1st and came right back home using only first and 2nd. i am letting the car cool down now. any thoughts ?

Could be a few things but most common issue is the 3/4 shift keys get bent and jam up under the synchronizer sleeve. Unfortunately this requires removal and tear down of the unit to repair.

If you go through the whole process and expense, do yourself a huge favor and buy the actual billet keys for this application. Do not replace them with stamped stock keys or cheap powdered metal keys.
