this car was a cool find in a garage on a house that was soon to be demolished, its a 98 Camaro z28 LS1 found a build sheet that shows to have a big cam and tune installed, and transmission " T56" was rebuilt, no details, i got the car running super choppy as i would expect a large cam would do drives fine for the for a month until i felt it was safe to give it a little hell, i dont dump the clutch but just gradually roll through the gears then flooring it, 1st too 2nd i noticed losing clutch ONLY at high RPMS and when it is time to hit 3rd forget about it, i have to pump the clutch up like 10 times using my foot to bring the peal back towards me repeat, then the clutch is back and shifting in all gears can continue as normal as long as the car is driven normal and not at high RPM's any ideas???? slave, master, clucth????? or worse??? thank you

 

Tick adjustable master and a good bleeding should make that all go away. If you try to “Matt” it from a dig, does it seem to slip?

 

What does the fluid look like, in the reservoir and from the bleeder port on the transmission? Does the car still have the OEM/OEM style master, if it doesn't is the clutch return/helper spring still there? One of the issues with a "found" car with a manual is you really don't know what was done or when. Hopefully the clutch was broken in properly and isn't glazed. If the fluid is dark/black it must be changed. When changing if you notice any grainy or clumpy stuff in it you may have sludge from older oil getting too hot and breaking down multiple times. Sludge in a system can cause fluid flow problems, particularly in the OEM master cylinders that still have the OEM orifice in place if that sludge gathers and clumps up around it. Do you have any fluid leaks or fluid gathering in the bell housing? My slave went bad and I am blaming old fluid and sludge and it was leaking into the bell housing so I didn't notice until it was too late and replacements were needed.

 

from a dig it will slip its ever living butt off, the fluid looks new very clear looking. it appears to have an OEM look to it, i will look again once i get it on the rack at the bell housing see if i can see any leaks i will bleed thet master and salve this weekend and see if this helps, any other advice thank you for your help
