I recently just replaced my master cylinder on my 2000 Trans Am Firehawk with a new one from summitt racing that is already pre-bleed. Everything is now back in place but I am unable to push back the line into the slave cylinder. Is it necessary to bleed in order to push the line back in? I have been reading through the threads online and in the forums and there is no consistent answer.

Should snap back into place easily. May want to try sliding the teflon locking sleeve back some as you try pusing the line into the connection on the slave.

I tried pulling back the sleeve to see if it would help. is there a technique to sliding it in? Just push it in or is there a something else? I tried different variations but I must be doing something incorrectly.

My bad! You shouldn't have to pull back on the sleeve just push it firmly until the locking tabs grab. If in correctly you will not be able to pull it back out without depressing in on the teflon sleeve.

I have been pushing it in without pressing the sleeve and it seems like there is resistance when pushing it in. I know the sleeves role is to disconnect so I have tried to push the connection in from the end without engaging the sleeve. any other suggestion? I am planning on lifting the car up in the next 30 minutes.

finally got it to go in. I needed some help to make sure the connection was going in straight (was on my back using a jack and could not see it perfectly) and it finally stayed in. Tested the connection several times by pulling on it and it would not come out.
