Default Clutch recommendation

I’m building a pro street / restomod 1960 corvette and could use some help choosing a good clutch for street / strip use. Engine is a N/A 6.2 that I’m hoping for around 600hp. Trans is a T56 Magnum 6 speed mated to a ford 9” with 4:11 gears. Tires are 30” tall Mickey Thompson ET drag radials. The car should weigh in the neighborhood of 2400# without driver.

In my 2013 SS, I'm using a Spec 3 with a stock flywheel. I love it. Drives like stock and can hold up to 800 lb. ft. They're also cheap, under $600. I just bought a stock replacement flywheel to use when I did the swap. However, I'm over 4000 lbs. with me in the car. If your car is that light, you may be able to get away with a lighter aftermarket flywheel.

Running an LT1-SC from Monster Clutches and it's rated to 1000 torque. Car only makes 550 rwhp but my driveline can handle much more than what I'm throwing at it so there's longevity there. Not really a street clutch but it's a stout piece.

The more overkill the clutch is, the narrower your sweet spot will be for a proper dragstrip launch. I would not want a dual disc for a lightweight 600hp street/strip application.

There are those that plan to make more power down the road and build accordingly.

If you want more out of your current overkill clutch, a clutch hit controller can make it hit like a proper clutch without giving up any of it's torque capacity.

Grant, I'm not having an issue with my clutch. The car is making 500 ft lbs at around 5,000 rpms which is about right for what I have for power right now.

Using the 1000ftlb capable clutch you referred to earlier?

If the car will be primarily street use with an occasional 1/4 mi hit, a McLeod RST. If its all about the 1/4 mi, Mc Leod RXT. Both are dual disc clutches

Single disc clutch with ceramic or Kevlar puc disc will not be friendly on the street, especially in stop/go traffic.

Yep...It's a twin disc that I installed about 10 years ago and now has a little over 20k miles on it. OP take a look at the Monster S Series C6 twin disc clutch.

Below is a link to the one I purchased

I doubt the OP wants to fight bog/spin at the track, or leave .5sec on the table.
The closer the match between the engine/clutch, the easier it will be to get all the et out of the combo.
