Default monster twin disc

I have a slave gap question. Been fighting issues with this t56 in my silverado. Like I mentioned it is a monster twin, my measured gap is .210. They have ideal gap specs .085 to .100. I rebuilt this engine and when putting the trans back in I added .103 worth of shims to get it close to .100. I was afraid to go anymore because that seems tight. I never could get my clutch to disengage thinking it was bleeding issues I redid all of it where I had a firm pedal. Still wouldn't disengage. Took it to trans shop, they said I had too much shim, they left a .063 shim in and it would go into gear.
On my second drive lost my pedal wouldnt go into gear looked like some fluid around headers, frustrated with trans shop I removed the trans myself replaced slave. Remeasured and got .220, at this point I am very hesitant on what size of shim to put in, any thought on what route I should go? My measurements are dead on as well.
