Default Need help with clutch

I have a 2000 Camaro SS and it currently has a X-Clutch Stage 2 Single Cushioned Ceramic Disc Clutch Kit with an adjustable Clutch Master Cylinder By Tick Performance. I’m not too fond of the clutch stiffness plus I want to teach my son how to drive a stick shift. Got a leak coming from the rear main seal and wanted to replace the clutch during the leak repair, possibly with the LS7 z06 Clutch kit from eBay. I guess the question is do I need to replace the adjustable master cylinder to rid of the stiffness? Also, would the LS7 z06 kit be just as stiff? Been hearing mixed reviews about the kit and not sure what to buy. Any info would help a lot. Thanks

The Tilton master cylinder used in the Tick kit has a larger bore than stock, which will automatically make pedal effort greater. This will be lessened with a Z06 style clutch , but it will never feel "stock". You can add a bit of pedal feel back by removing the clutch pedal return spring under the dash. I'd do the clutch, remove the spring, and see how it feels. If it's still too stiff, you'll have to go back to a stock style master.
