Default Clutch install ? Need help quick.

Im getting my exhaust all welded up tomorrow to fix some annoying leaks and i was wondering if I should leave the pipes clamped at the header collectors so I can pull the exhaust for when I put a new clutch in this spring? Im running a pacesetter y-pipe.

If you do your own work on your car (hell, even if you don't), I wouldn't weld any of the exhaust up that can be sealed using clamps. This will make dropping the exhaust much easier for later work, like dropping the tranny. You don't have to take off the Y-pipe to drop the tranny, it can be done with it still on, but it just leaves you with less room to work with.

I will probably leave it clamped onto the headers but have the rest welded. I have a few leaks.

Default welding

i like to leave my exhaust clamped just because its easier for me to work on, but i just did my clutch install and didn't touch the y pipe. the tranny can be pulled far eoungh back and taked out without touching the y.

I just put a tranny back in a car, we had to drop the Y pipe from the collectors, however, if we could have dropped the Y from the rear of the exhaust (his is welded up as well) then it would have been MUCH easier. When I did my clutch I dropped the Y to give us more room.
