Default How about a 93' 6-speed in my notchback?

I can get a 6-speed out of a 93' Z28 for $250.00 but it needs an output shaft and a counter shaft. Anyone know how much that should be parts/labor? Also, are the 93 M6's any weaker/stronger then other years? I'm putting this in my 89' notchback, sweet.

The gearing is a little different, do you know if it came from 3.23 or 2.73 car?

I tend to wonder what else will be wrong with it. If it needs a new mainshaft (output shaft) at $220, and it needs a new countershaft (I don't know how much those cost - $175?)... You're $400 in to it, and still haven't touched anything else that may be broken.

You can get used LT1 T56's in working condition for under $800 (they're around)... IMO it's probably not worth it, unless it included everything (bellhousing, clutch hydraulics, etc). I'd offer the guy $100-$150 and see if he takes it. If not, then I'd pass.

I own the trans. It has a 2.97 1st gear.

Both the input shaft gear and the countershaft gears are broken. (guess it didn't like 830ftlbs?)

And yes, the 93 trans is rated at I believe 400ftlbs, as opposed to the 450ft lbs of the 2.66 geared 94-97 transmissions.

I don't know the cost on the parts to fix it, or if they are available. If the trans isn't worth $250, than make me an offer, and pick it up.

The '93 2.97LGR trans is rated at 400 Ft-lb. There was also a 3.36 LGR F-car t56 rated at 350.
If by notch back , you mean a Mustang, you would be musch ahead to buy the aftermarket T56( 1383-000-012) that was designed/ setup for a Mustang. By the time you rebuild & convert this box you will have more $ into it AND it will still be used.

I forgot to mention that I'm getting all the pieces such as bellhousing, scatter sheild, Stage 5 clutch, etc... (everything I need) for $550.00 then the blown trans is $250.00 totaling at $800.00. Also I'm awaiting an estimate on repairs for the trans with a nice set of synchros and a badass clutch fork. Does this sound like a deal or no?
