Uh oh stuck in 4th

Well, to be honest, I haven't cracked one open myself, but I have blown a couple up. Couldn't recomend a book for you and most shop maulas I've seen have plety of diagrams but no real instruction. I would recomend you talk to CamaroHolic. He knows this T56 stuff he can probably swap syncros and gears and bend spoons with his mind. I think it's going to have to come out of gear to be disassembled anyway. I think the parts you've screwed up have already gone to ****, so I wouldn't worry about damaging them much more.
There is a PDF manual on the Tremec site ( download free) Don't let anyone sell you one. Tho get it out of gear : depress the clutch and slowly let it out(engine running) while you attenpt to pull it out of gear. Just reefing on the stick wont do it and it may damage it more. It may have bent or broken a strut if you have been yanking on it awhile in which case a teardown may be the only way to get at it.
