Default Z06 & LS6 - Are they the same?

I hear some people refer to the clutch as a Z06, and hear other refers to them as a LS6. Are these the same clutch? Whats the deal? Looking to get one of these for my 02 Hawk.

is common for that places shipping charges. If you are replacing the clutch in your car, I would recommend just going with a Spec Stage 2 or 3 since they are supposodly better than the Z06 for about the same price.

They aren't the same price though. The LS6/Z06 kit comes with a flywheel, whereas the Spec does not.

Hmm, didn't know that. I thought that was from SLP only, not from GMPD.

the zo6/ls6 setup is a standard gm part nothing special. gmpartsdirect shows great prices but like ebay make it up on shipping. what you think may be 20.00 at worst could be 80.

I just paid $368.00 for the Z06 Kit from GMPD with shipping to Connecticut. You know what though- I couldn't find the throw out bearing I needed there. Does anyone know the part # I need, and if its available through GMPD, or should I just go to my local dealer for that.

I paid $330 + $25 shipping from carolina cluch. If the kit from GMPD is the same as the one I got it comes with a throw out bearing (not the slave, just the throw out) as well as a pilot bearing and algnment tool.

Maybe because people are on a budget and the LS6 setup works well for what it is?

I know I'm VERY happy with my LS6 kit especially after the beatings it has received at the track (4Krpm dumps on drag radials)- and it's grabbing just as good as it was when I first installed it.

Maybe if you have nothing better to offer then a bunch of BS trying to start arguments by posting these asinine, smart-*** comments (in several threads), then maybe you should just keep your fingers off the keyboard.

Has anyone heard of know for sure if the clutch in the 02 TA is the Z06 clutch? When I worked at an auto parts store the part number for 98-02 Z28,98-01 TA were the same but the 02 TA was different. A TA owner said that it was the Z06 clutch.

and why dont you shut the **** up . he already has the ls6 clutch and hydraulics setup and he doesnt have **** for mods to have worn out his clutch. whats the ****** point of replacing an already good clutch with the same one. and if his ls6 clutch is already slipping it begs the question of why he'd want to replace it with the same **** that was already slipping and he's got no mods.

theres and ignore lists, i suggest you use or stop being a ******* bitch.

man , seems like every other thread on this website , somebody is ripping somebody else's head off. the man asked a simple question and this thread should have just required a simple answer. no need for the cursing and namecalling. geez , just chill. no wonder so many people just lurk and are afraid to ask anything , look what the threads turn into. i really hope ls1tech doesn't turn into the complete and utter joke ls1.com did. now everyone shake hands , chill out , stop being hostile and be the true gearheads we were meant to be......

Why don't you grow up? Seriously, this is rediculous. Internet arguing and calling people names through their moniters?

People are asking about the LS6 clutch, and they get answers. You think clutches fail only on modified cars? That's just plain ignorant. Why would he want to replace it with the same thing? Well, did you ever think maybe he, or the previous owner learned how to drive stick on the car? No, you wouldn't have thought that because you were too busy trying to be mister tough guy moderator rather than use some common sense and etiquette.

"theres and ignore lists". Well, if I could understand what you were trying to say, maybe I could comprehend it.
