Built up T56
Built up T56 So I'm going with a turbo on my 408, I've been looking into automatic transmissions a lot because I don't see any vendor sites selling T56's built up to handle high HP.
I love my car as a manual transmission but it needs to be strong and last through the strip and driving it on the street a few times a week.
Who builds up T56's, how much do they cost? How much LB/FT of torque will they stand up to on ET Streets?

Well a lot of people have pushed stock t-56's over 700rwhp no problems, I see a lot of 11 second and 10 second F-bodys with stock T56's. I have a T56 for the lt1, I've got over 400fwhp, and i flog the hell out of it day in day out, at the track and all and its lasted all summer without a hint of stress. But I want to know all the same things you do about who can build them up, I have two of them I want done...I know a guy at a Chevy dealer that prolly will know...

g force transmissions sells a kit or a full transmission with a few selections of gear sets with about a 900 to 1000 ft/lb rating i think, i know its somewhere right in there, this of course depends on weight, traction, rear gear ratios, etc. I dont think theyre a sponser though so go google
