Default Clutch Question from a newbie

Hey everyone, my first post on the board and I've already got a question.

I've got about 30K miles on my '02 WS6 and I believe the stock clutch is starting to go on it. The clutch point has been moving its way up more and more, and now I've got problems shifting into 1st from neutral... I actually have to let go of the clutch and push it back down, then I can shift.

I want something that feels similar to my stock clutch, but I figured if I'm spending money on a new one I might as well get one that is better quality. Keep in mind the car is stock (for now), so I dont need anything heavy duty.

What can you guys recomend to me? I've been looking at a SPEC clutch and I noticed someone on here has got a Z06 clutch. :dunno

Thanks guys!

Stock clutch out at 30K? You must be 'beatin that bird of yours... Okay, no mods (yet), you can't go wrong with either a Spec II or a Z06 setup. Both can handle upwards of 450hp at the crank, so when you do start 'a moddin', your clutch will at least be ready for it.

Mine has always done that. If you stop with the car in neutral, sometimes you have to let the clutch out and put it back in again to get it into first. I've got 75,000 miles on mine with out any problems. (mild mods, and never been to the track though) It still works fine without slipping.

i killed mine in 7000 miles. if youre looking for a stock feel clutch i can recommend the spec 3. it's alsmost like stock and will hold just about anything you can throw at it.

Not really beating on it, but I did learn how to drive stick on it.

I'll start moddin one of these days. Gotta start with a new clutch and some brakes first. Plus, my boyfriend would rather play with his truck than help me work on a real car. lol

Thanks for the tips guys. I'll probably go for a Spec II or III. I also heard about getting carbon pads to avoid chatter. True or false? Not sure what that means, but thats what I'm told.

the spec stage 3 has a combination of carbon and ceramic material in the pads, they have no chatter at all to them once thay are broken in.
