P0736 - Reverse Incorrect Ratio

P0736 - Reverse Incorrect Ratio got this code right now and also a CAGS code.
I checked all the wiring and connectors going into the tranny and they look fine and are in the right spot.
this is a tranny out of a 2000 and my car is a 1998....
anyone know whats up with it?
I have to get it smogged and it won;t pass like this
