slipping stage 3
Is there a shudder also when it slips for you guys?
Spec III went on last February- I'm kinda pissed if I'm only gonna get less than a year out of it.

edit:
I've sent a letter to SPEC, perhaps they could shed some light on the issue.

The price of the Spec clutches is great. But with all these horror stories of them going out so soon, that damn chatter, and not to mention the having to accomodate your driving to your clutch, I decided against it.
I now have 11000 miles on my clutchmasters clutch.
I paid double the price of the Spec 3, but it was money well spent.
By this time I would have probably been on my second Spec clutch anyway.
My clutch drives just like stock, I can slip it all I want and damn does this sucker grab.
Also, it never chattered. Even when it was brand new.
It is rated at 700 hp, that's flywheel I think. That's more than I will need, at least for a while.
All in all, I am completely satisfied with my clutch choice.
I couldn't be happier, and it's all thanks to you guys

But I never dumped over 2.5k (10 bolt saving...) so I'll see next year what she can do with 5-6k dumps...
Unlike the last stage III, where the friction disk had worn down into the rivets, this time I had friction material left.
This time around the friction disk ate deep into the (new) SPEC billet flywheel causing slippage. I should have taken a pic before I had the flywheel turned.
I'm just wondering if the ones that are slipping is due to being shimmed wrong, and they are not fully engaged when the clutch pedal is released fully? I didn't shim mine and it grabs right on the floor, it seems like most people like for them to grab at the top... it could be that they aren't fully "clamped" ??

I suppose it could have been related to my setup of the X-pad clutch. I installed both as instructed though.

My new 3 grabs low too, and I was complaining.
Maybe not such a bad thing? From what I am now gathering, new clutches grab low, older clutches grab high?
That would be my case anyway...
