so you drill the end of the hose that comes off of the transmission? and not the end that is off of the master cyl?

no. You drill the very end of the line, that hooks to the master cylinder

Not sure how to make this procedure any clearer Dan. Did you read the instructions and look at the pics on Install University?

Take the braided line off the MC. The end that was held on with the roll pin is where you drill. Try ans stick a 1/8" dril bit in the hole. It will go in a little and then stop. This is the restriction you will drill out. It is about 1" long. The drill bit should free up after it is about 1.75" into the line.

DO NOT DRILL THE END WITH THE QUICK CONNECT. If you do you will be buying another new MC.

Yep, flush the line well and then bleed. When you think you have it bled do it again. This is the step that will make or break your install.

You wil stop getting air out of the system. If you are bleeding on the car you will get all fluidwhen the bleeder is cracked. Ifyou are bench bleeding you will nt see air bubbles any more. Unortunately there is not a solid answer to this, at least from me. I just bleed the system and then bleed some more.

A couple of caveats: If you do it on the car you will lose the roll pin, so have a similar od piece of stiff wire (it is a bit thicker than a coat hanger so get some while you still have the roll pin in your hand.)

Also put a small dish under the end of the master cylinder as it will leak a couple of ounces when the AN4 line is removed and that is a painted surface.

Also I could not get a .125 drill bit in the line at all. I used a 7/64 which was the largest that would fit. Also be careful not to lose anything (like a drill bit) down the line while you are probing for the fitting <g>.

Now on the bleeding. Is there a fitting up there like the bleed fitting on the brakes to put a line over or are we expected to just get brake fluid all over everything. Thanks

Perry
