Default Shifting into 1st, 3rd, 5th, and Reverse...

Ever since my friend installed my Spec 3, my shifting hasn't felt the same.

Going into 1st, 3rd, 5th, and reverse feels notchy, mushy and a bit tough. 3rd gear is by far the worse. My pedal feel is normal, not heavy and not mushy, and all the other gears feel fine. Why just the "top-row" gears on my shifter?

We did the drill mod. The car barely has any runs under it's belt and has only 12k miles. Now the Spec 3 does release low off the floor, if that is any hint. I am diseganging though, I put the rear up and while in 1st gear and clutch in, the wheels don't move. So I'm not powershifting it seems.

When you drop a tranny, is there a way to cause this when you reconnect?

Mine did the same thing when I had my clutch installed. A couple of the gears were notchy and it was difficult to get into reverse sometimes. The more miles I put on it though it kept getting better and better. After about 400 or so it was back to normal so its probably just part of the break-in period.

Ok you may be right.

I only have 375 miles on the Spec 3. I'll give it more time.

Thanks for your reply.

Did you replace the slave? If so did you bleed it real good? they require a lot of work but neccesary. After you connected the quick connect did you pump the petal a few times quickly it will some times help just a few things to try before you get crazy on searching for the problem. Also did you use the shim from spec?

Thanks for checking Inspector.

Yup, updated slave. Can't really comment on the bleeding, my friend is a dealership mechanic that does only trannies and rears, and I wasn't there. He says he was thorough with everything. 'Also used the green shim from Spec.

I think I'm going to re-bleed this weekend, 'can't make it any worse I suppose.
