Default Getting flywheel off....

i know, stupid question, but it's been god knows how many years since i took out a 6speed from an f-body. How the heck do you get the flywheel off. I got all the bolts undone, and now it's just time to pull it off but it's stuck. I'm guessing I have to remove the pilot bearing FIRST and then it'll come out easy. So that brings me to question two, does autozone have a tool to rent/purchase that can do such a job? I remember drilling/breaking the old one back in the day, but i don't want to FUBAR anything up.

You'll have to pry / shimmy / whatever to get the flywheel off. It's free once you get the bolts out.

To replace the pilot bearing, you can get the tool from AutoZone. Notch the pilot bearing with a hammer/chisel, jam the tool in there, and it'll come out.

No, you don't have to remove the pilot bearing to get the flywheel off. Just try to pry it off, it tends to get stuck on there. The slave is bolted onto the tranny by two 10mm bolts (if I remember correctly). Just unbolt them and it should slide off.

Use two flat head screwdrivers and push that white part in towards the slave line. Once it bottoms out, you should be able to pull the line out.
