Clutch/ tranny problems
Clutch/ tranny problems Ok I have about 60k on my stock clutch. I've been noticing a chattering sound (no vibration) when taking off from a stop. Also I'm getting some grinding sounds when driving and shifting slowly. (Throwout bearing?) I know I need a new clutch package but what the heck is that chattering sound? I've been looking at the spec 2 and spec 3 clutches. Would a spec 3 be overkill for me? I'm putting down around 320rwhp. Thanks for the help guys.
I've noticed the same thing with mine, it happened for the first time just before thanksgiving. It kind of squeaks/chatters when i engage the clutch from a stop, but I can't feel the chatter. I've got a Ram powergrip 3 going in probably before Christmas so I'll let you know what I find with the old one. I also have what sounds like a throwout bearing but it goes away when I'm stopped and I push the clutch in. I've heard that could just be the gears themselves making noise, and the noise goes away when you push in the clutch and the gears slow to a stop.
