At the top of this forum is a sticky that contains pretty much all you will need to know. I recently did this in a little over a day.

I'm in the process, but I'm really going for the factory look. Cutting all holes factory shape, factory M6 harness and using as much factory equipment as possible. You also need to get the PCM flashed to an M6 to get everything to function as it should. There is no way I could do it in a weekend unless I did it before, and even then, probably not the way I'm doing it. I'm just doing it as I get time since it's not a DD.

I accumulated all the stuff I would need over about 2 months and did mine quickly because my car is my daily driver. I also used the A4 harness, which saved a lot of time. Other than that, it would be very hard to tell my car from a factory M6 from underneath, and impossible from the interior. As for the tranny holding up, i know several guys around here that are pushing over 500 rwhp with no problems. Just make sure that you get a good clutch, and if the actual transmission is from a pre 01 car update the master and slave cylinder. I would also take the time to freshen it up with D & D parts if your gonna be pushing a lot of horsepower.

With that much power I would stick with an auto. You'll break less stuff.
