Default Who all use a harlan 2 step with M6 ?

How many of you with M6 cars run a harlan 2 step??
How much does it help the car not bog? (like patting gas untile 6000 rpms then dump and floor it vs hold flored with 2 step set at 6000 rpms, then dump) Thanks about to buy one. any info???

I put one in last year. It is night and day difference with the 2 step. The car leaves a lot harder off the 2 step than the hold and dump method. Plus I leave at the same RPM ALL the time.

I recommend this.

I'm getting slicks so I can better take advantage of it. Good stuff.

I dont know for sure but I think you can run an MSD 2 step on a LT 1. I have a Harlan 2 step on my LS1 and dont know what I ever did without it...oh yes I do, I had alot of trouble leaving at optimum RPMs. I will put a 2 step on my 95 LT1 when my bank account recovers from all the winter mods I did on the 2000 SS car.

I ran a brakelight switch at the bottom of the travel on my clutch and an activation switch in my ashtray. Hold the clutch down and arm it from ashtray switch and floor it, the 2 step will hold the revs where you set it till you dump the clutch. Then if you catch enough traction hopefully your driveshaft wont come unglued like mine did.

I use the Two Step because I too had a hard time holding a steady rpm while timing the tree. Trouble is, I have Nittos and run at Moroso, which are 2 things that make it hard to blow off the line at WOT.

With MT ET Street DR's on the way, I plan to leave the line the way the Two Step was designed....to blast off out of there with the pedal mashed! (I am also now looking at prices for parts I'm about to break )

i had mine spliced into my WOT switch with a relay. to test it i disconected my fuel line from my maf kit and put it into a bottle while the system was armed and the 2 step was on. let me tell you launching off the spray with the 2 step is like no other.

Gray wire to the clutch switch, Blue PCM connector pin 32 (gray wire on the harness)

White wire to a momentary pushbutton switch, other side of switch to ground

a typical automotive relay, you need one that has 5 terminals, not 4.

yellow wire to terminal 85, 12V to terminal 86. Intercept your power feed or WOT switch arming for the system. Basically cut that circuit, and splice in the relay using terminals 30 and 87a. When the 2 step activates, the relay should open and disconnect the 30 and 87a terminals. Those are the normally closed connections of the relay

Depending on how you wire it, you can use 87 to run a light or something if you have 12v on terminal 30.
hope this helps

WOT Switches are your friend. one on the gas pedal and one on the clutch pedal. when your clutch pedal is pushed, the WOT switch will restict the elctricity from going thru and turning the bottle on. when the clutch is released, the WOT switch will touch and it will do its thing. just have to actually mount it on the clutch pedal. sorry, i've just been thinking about all this spray stuff and how to be as safe as possible to make the stock block and t56 last atleast a season
