Default Drill Mod seal?

Just done the drill mod on my clutch line, and I was just wondering if there is supposed to be a seal between the line and the master cylinder. I didn't see one, but If there was I may have dropped it and can't find it. Also, how big of a drill bit can you use, and are there anyother restrictions other than the line where it connects to the master cylinder?

Yes, there is an o-ring that goes between the line and the master. If you have an old slave cylinder you can pull the o-ring out of where the quick connect attaches to the slave.

There is a rubber washer that sits on the end of the line and goes inside the master cylinder and as far as I know you just use an 1/8" drill bit, thats what I used. There are no other restrictions in the line that I could find.

I wouldn't call it a quick job because the master cylinder is a pain to get to and replace cause it's under the brake master cylinder. You will have to bench bleed the master cylinder after you do the drill mod. On install university they did the drill mod and replaced the master cylinder with a mcloed. You will have to do all the same steps except instead of putting the clutch line in the mcloed you'll just put it back in the stock master cylinder.

you can take the line off without removing the master cylinder I did on my car, just pushed out the roll pin and take the line off it's "not" that hard just takes patients.

Thats a helluvan idea. Now that i think about it while i was flushing my clutch line this past weekend. I did see the roll pin and the master cylinder. I might try and go at it this way when i get around to doing the drill mod on my line.

He's talking about taking the line out to do the drill mod, he'll still have to put it back before he bleeds it. You can bench bleed the master while it's in the car. I'm not sure if that's what you're asking cause your post is really unclear.

yes. sorry..about being clear... ok so i can remove the roll pin and do the drill mod.............then put back in and replace role pin.... then how do i flush???? and bleed.????
Would i unconnect the qick connect and run fluid throght where i drilled and the qick connect??? if so I thought the Quick connect would stop fluid from flowing out..so how fo I flush???
If you some how can flush it like that how??? but after the flushing part now to the bleeding.. please describe please

To flush, you need to push in on the middle of the quick disconnect to open it, and at the same time pour fluid through it so it comes out the side you drilled.

There are (at least) 2 ways to bleed the master, pressure or vacuum. If you are using vacuum, you will need what's known as a slave sim, which is the slave side of the quick disconnect but disconnected from the slave, and a mityvac. Take some rubber hose and connect it to the slave sim and connect the slave sim to the master cylinder line. Put the other end of the rubber hose in a bottle of brake fluid. Now all you have to do is pull the fluid up into the master cylinder by putting the mityvac in the reservoir tube. Leave the vacuum on while you disconnect the slave sim and now your mc is full of fluid. That is the way I did it.

For the pressure way you would just push in on the end of the quick connect while you pump brake fluid down through the reservoir. I don't know how to make the pressure bleeder thing but there's a post about it somewhere.
