Shim clutch or slave?
I think the shop that installed my new tranny shimmed the clutch and not the slave, which one is the right one to shim, the new tranny wouldn't disengage the clutch without shims, but now it slps bad in 4th at 5600rpm, would shimming the clutch do this?

I have no idea that is just what they told me, it was a local shop not a ls1 or speed shop. There aren't any of those local. I hope they did it right but it not working is leading me to think they didn't.

I think the SPEC puts a shim behind the slave cylinder, between the slave and trans to move the slave out a bit.

What kind of clutch do you have?

Very odd as when I bought my Spec Stage 3 it didnt come with any shims. We thuoght we needed them and called LS1speed. They told us you dont need any shims with the new design. The clutch was installed this weekend and gave my boyfriend and his friend a hard time. It was one thing after another after another with it...one of the bellhousing bolts got screwed up as well as one of the holes. The screws that came with the clutch were crap so we used the stock ones. Right now the car is still up on jacks as they cant get any pressure to the pedal.
