Opinions from those with experience?

My car is in my sig.. I’m running nitrous and drags sending a bit more than 600 to the wheels. The stock clutch obviously didn’t last very long, so I need to do a little shopping.

I haven’t had a ton of time to research parts due to my job taking 560% of my time, so I’d appreciate it if anyone with a little experience with various clutches could give me some advice.

I want the best and money isn’t an issue. I just need to be able to put the power to the wheels without having it drive and sound like a rattle trap if at all possible. I’m considering an aluminum fly wheel also unless there are negative side affects.

What all do I need to buy and what brands/models would you recommend?

Min of a spec 4i for your power level, or that nasty ram clutch that Allan futral uses in his car... or there's a new clutch from austrails that is supposed to be good too. I'd stay away from the alum flywneel for a drag car... the weight will help stop the bogging, not that you really should have any issues making 600+ to the tires.

I have had a SPec 3 and now a Spec 4F. The 3 didn't last long with a lot of hard launches. The 4F seems like it is light years ahead of the 3 in grip. Time will tell as I just finished the breakin. The 4F is a better street clutch as well.

Don't do the AL FW if it is a drag car for the resons stated above.

My car does get some track time, but it's not only a drag car. I still drive it every once in a while.

I was thinking of a SPEC clutch... Is the SPEC-4 to hard for driving through stop signs and such with grace?

JL... Are you saying to keep the stock wheel or just not go Alum? What about Billet steel?

I went throught a SPEC 3 clutch in about 12k without once taking it to the track or pounding it. I have a heard a lot of good things about the Rams's so i went with that. Everything went in easy and is working properly. We'll see how long it lasts. Call Trevor at Texas Speed, I think he has one in his car and puts down around 6 or 700 hp. from what I've heard.
