is it true? Ive heard from some people that ls1 flywheels can only be machined once and some say not at all....what is the truth behind this?
asking because i replaced my clutch with a new spec 2 and upgraded my hydraulics and my clutch is slipping.......now im remembering there was already an aftermarket clutch in my car meaning the flywheel has been turned at least twice.
any info is really appreciated.

Turning the stock flywheel twice, is not good...
Its not so much the lack of material to machine as musch as the changed metalurgical properties in the material. Gone-south clutches usually come with hot-spotted wheels. They are not evenly distributed over the face and create a poor surface quality. Turning cannot compensate.
