Clunk?!?!
Clunk?!?! OK I've got a 2002 WS-6 and it has about 25000 miles on it. I haven't had it very long, just since 22000 miles. I haven't performed any hard launches, or dumped the clutch. But I have noticed that if I am shifting slowly, as in taking my time, making the ride smooth, when I disengage the clutch it will sometimes make a slight clunk noise. It kind of sounds as though it is coming from the rear end, or the drive shaft. Now if I'm in it a bit more aggresively I doesn't do this, and it usually only does this once I reach highway speeds. Not so much when I am below say 45-50. Anyone know what this is or experienced the same? Is this going to be a problem or just normal drive line slack? Not very familiar with our drivelines so any and all information is appreciated.

I too have never had m6 f-body until recently, and the only thing i have done to affect stock setup is upgraded the hydros-and a spec3, I hear exactly what you do under normal 'easy' driving, especially when say im in 6th on the highway and the down shift to 4th to get on a ramp, there is a slight jolt and clunch in the rearend, its normal although i was a little freaked at first, not there at all when banging thru the gears though

Could be the torque arm bushing , trans mount , drive shaft , rear diff or trans ......... Too many variables there to give a 100% correct answer . Grab a creeper and some jack stands and start eliminating stuff .

my car does this a lot as well. ive been trying to track it down since i bought the car, some things that helped: bleeding the clutch, poly torque arm bushing. these things made it a little less evident but did not get rid of it. ive driven other m6 ls1 fbody's and non of them do it like mine does. oh well. its going into the dealership on mon for a whole list of things...... =]
