Default B&M Ripper Noise

I just installed the ripper this weekend, and when I was driving around last night, I noticed a new noise in the car. It wasn't a rattle like it was lose, it was more like I could hear more transmission noise coming through the stick. (Hard to describe, but like a 'whine' almost, in every gear) Is this sound norm?

I got it in first gear mainly after I installed my ripper. It's normal.

no my girlfriend just noticed the noise when her head was down there....
lol j/k

Ha yeah, I actually heard the 'whining' sound when I was driving around (with the radio on), and I couldn't figure it out what the hell it was at first.

And I didn't hear it the first day after I installed it, it was like 2 nights later.

Amen, thanks for the help, I guess this is the price we pay for a shorter cleaner shift. If GM would do things right from the factory

Mine does it too, but only if I'm putting even the slightest bit of pressure on the shifter with my hand (like in stop-n-go traffic). If I just leave it alone it's nice and quiet. Figure it's no biggie.

Most aftermarket shifters have that noise. My Pro5.0 does it,my friends B&M does it, I'mpretty sure it's because that rubber isolator isn't in there, that the stock handle has. Doesn't bother me anymore, I got used to it I guess.

It's a very minor noise in fact mine did it less with the Hurst **** than the white one I have on there now. KrazyDan you either want firmer faster shifts or a quiet shifter, can't have your cake and eat it too. Buy either the Ripper or Pro 5.0 and you will be so happy with how the car shifts you will forget all about any little noises
