Default Do our cars have a T-56 tranny?

I have heard people talk about this transmission and is bulletproof strength. Is it in our cars. A few posts down i read about a 1LE tranny. <img src="images/icons/frown.gif" border="0"> just confusses me. But is the tranny just a model of transmissions, because i saw a T-56 advertisement in a freinds ford mag and how they are someitmes put in mustangs because they are good.

yes they are in our cars. there are a few different ones from what i understand. cause there are the ones from the corvettes and f-bodies as well as in the Vipers. different gear ratios if i'm not mistaken. the 1LE is just an option on the f-body cars. the mustangs use them as a swap for their 5-speeds.
