My T56 is GONE!!???
My T56 is GONE!!??? Hello to everyone first off!! Moved From ls1.com due to slow speed.
Well Thur. Night i went to shift into 3rd and started hitting the revlimiter!! 3rd gear was GONE! so i let out of it and tried it again...then i put it in 5th drove fine. Then i gased it a little in 5th and Grind instead of go! So i called a buddy we trailored it home. As i unloaded it at the dealer Fri. morning and attemted to pull it in the Shop 2nd gear semed fine so i gassed it a LITTLE and grind instead of go! So as far as i know 2nd, 3rd, 5th gears are GONE im shure the rest are too.
Just thought id tell my Story any ideas what caused it? havent Missed any shifts? Had the 2nd gear Syncro replaced about a year ago.

I bet it's this....
I have seen this happen 2 times first hand. It does exactly what you are describing. it will drive, but as soon as you apply ANY throttle, you grind. What you're hearing is the center hub of the clutch grinding on the springs. It gets wedged in there enough to move the car. But try to accelerate and it's a no go.

Re: My T56 is GONE!!??? BWAAAAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!!!!!! Well guys the VERY next morning I call the Dealer and tell them to LOOK at the Clutch it is PROBLY Broke!! They say Nope its deffinatly a broke posi!! I say ok....
Well next Day posi comes in they replace it....I go to pic my car up after work and they say well your Clutch is "ALSO" broke.
So i asked them to show me what was broke in my posi. And they ahow me a piece of metal that was in my rearend "so they say". Bt the posi it perfictly fine and they tore it appart to find where it broke but the couldnt. THANK YOU FOR WARRENTE!!!
Well the clutch is not a warentee part so they say if i buy one they will install it for free!! Guess they feel bad for their remove and replace type of troubleshooting. So i get a Free posi to boot!! And a free install on a non warentee part!! 48k miles on my car with Extended Warentee.
