Default do i need a new clutch or new hydro cylinder??

I have a 2001 z28 m6 with 72,000 miles. Factory clutch.

Today I started my car, depressed the clutch and went to shift from the neutral gate to first gear and couldnt shift into first gear. after pumping the clutch and holding it to the floor I tried shifting into all gears and couldnt...

For the last few weeks, my clutch pedal has not felt consistant, meaning: sometimes it grabs close to the floor, other times close to release, or has alot of travel before engaging. Also when driving fast my clutch has never slipped sending my rpms up, while i sit there.

So with that said, would you place your money on getting a new clutch or does that mean my hydrolics could be out.....

Try flushing the hydrolics and then bleed. This is the cheapest way to start troubleshooting the problem. If that works great. If not then it is time to look at the master, slave, and clutch.

Sounds like a hydraulic problem of some sort.

thats what I thought. i just hope is the master and not the slave, I didnt want to replace the slave until I redo the clutch which is a planned project one month away!
