McLeod or Spec?
I picked up a used (2k miles) McLeod Street Twin off a member here for my conversion. My car is going to be a daily driver, but I want to be able to take it to the track a few times a year. I'm putting in a 402ci LS2 stroker, so I should have some pretty mean torque happening.
So anyway, the guy building my car though is suggesting I go with a Spec instead. The only McLeod he's had experience with was one on an LT1 car he did, and he hated it - said the pedal pushed too hard for a daily driver. He's done several 3rd gen swaps with LS1s and uses SPEC clutches. He's trying to talk me into selling the McLeod and letting him put a SPEC in.
From what I've read in the searches, it seems like there are a lot of problems with the SPECs right now. Who here has a McLeod Street Twin, especially on a bigger than stock-cubed engine, and how do you like it?
Ill never buy another Spec. My 3I lasted 5000 miles with no track time and on radials.
